To benchmark our students’ performance, each fall St. Lawrence Catholic School students in grades 2-8 take the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills Assessment. This standardized test allows St. Lawrence to compare its students with others from across the country. The feedback from these tests also gives us valuable data about the strengths of our curriculum and effectively helps us determine what instruction may be needed in the school year.
The charts represent the average results by grade level for our 2nd through 8th graders on the October 2015 test.
Interpreting the scores: The scores represent grade equivalency. A score of 3.3 represents a student’s skill to be on par with a third grade student in their third month of the school year.
